Behind The Work
This time has gifted everyone the opportunity to connect with themselves in a way like never before. I chose to dive deeper into natural healing and herbal medicine during this time. Tapping deeper into myself meant connecting with my African and Indigenous American Ancestry. For centuries we have used herbs and the land to make art and weave our destinies.
The Medium
Natural dyes made from natural herbs, plants and vegetables such as turmeric, hibiscus flower, black beans, and chlorophyll. Accompanied with ingredients to chemically alter the colors such as vinegar and baking soda.
